Hello, this looks like a lovely blog. I look forward to reading it.

Can I make a suggestion? You refer to cup measurements, which don’t really translate in the UK (I don’t know whether the rest of Europe understand them – as they are metric, probably not). It would be incredibly helpful if you would write at the top of any recipe that uses cups that one cup is about 240ml (I looked this up online – I hope it is correct).

Teaspoons and tablespoons are still used in the UK and, although I now think in metric, I can easily switch the units on my measuring scales to oz.

I hope that this is some help. In the meantime – how would you ice gingerbread? It’s something I’ve never done but I am planning to have a go this Christmas.

Thank you for your suggestion, I love when people from out of the country visit my website, well I love when anyone visits! Here in the U.S. we don’t use the metric system, but since there are so many people out there I’ll try to do my best. And stay tuned until next weeks first ask Bern. Your question will be answered then. I know how the struggle of icing went for me! ๐Ÿ˜‚

My chocolate chip cookies always turn out crunchy instead of chewy. What am I doing wrong? Am I leaving them in the oven too long? ~Anne

Whenever I make bread rolls, my rolls are super hard (rock hard in fact) What am I doing wrong and how can I make soft bread rolls?

Aha! I’ve thought of something – please could I have a recipe for corn muffins? I used to buy them when I was in the US (I lived in DC for a while as a child and used to visit often) but they are not really (ever) available to buy in the UK.
