Hello guys! It’s almost Friday!!! *As she does her happy dance*. I wanted to share this recipe because I really love the idea of playing around with different oatmeal flavors. The idea of turning simple oatmeal into creative and fun flavors really intrigues me. Here are the links to my last two flavors:

https://madebybernadine.wordpress.com/2016/10/30/mixed-berry-oatmeal/ (Mixed Berry Oatmeal)
This next flavor is Apple Pie inspired because it has cookes apples, cinnamon, lemon juice, and brown sugar, ingredients you’d normally find in an apple pie. Enjoy!!
Apple Pie Inspired Oatmeal Recipe:
For one serving-
Ingredients:
1 single serving of oatmeal (freshly cooked or refrigerated)
1 small apple, peeled and diced
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tbs. of brown sugar (to taste)
1 tsp. lemon juice
1 tbs milk
Two of three more apple pieces (for garnish)
Directions:
In a small pot, add the freshly cooked or refrigerated oatmeal with the milk and stir until combined and smooth on a medium low heat.
Add cinnamon and stir to combine. Then add the lemon juice, sugar, and salt.
Once all the ingredients are in, add the apples and cook until they are tender (like apple pie filling). This should take around five to ten minutes.
Once the oatmeal is done, plate it up and garnish with a sprinkling of cinnamon and a few raw apples.
Enjoy!! ππ
Oh that looks good!π

I confess…I hate oatmeal…with a passion!
HOWEVER, my three big kids cannot get enough of the stuff! When they were small, even though I thought oatmeal was the worst thing ever created (LOL!), I made it for them. Now when they show up on weekends, guess who gets to make pots of oatmeal? π
I’ll definitely try this out on them…I think! πππ

The oatmeal looks so good, I like adding different flavor in my oatmeal as well. Lately I have used coconut-milk instead of ordinary milk or water.

Yes! You can use any milk really. It’s only there to loosen up the oatmeal ππ
